Cornerstone

The Cornerstone Class is an adult class formed in 2004. The class began from a group who felt the church did not have a niche for them, so they began one of their own. Now the class has grown to about 20 members and averages around 15 every Sunday.
 
Most of us have never been involved in Sunday School before or have recently rejoined our spiritual journey. Eclectic is the word that best describes our class. We are made up of singles, divorced and 'half couples' as well as a few couples ranging in age from 30-60.
 
Some of us have kids, some don't. Some are employed in the workplace, others work at the homeplace. We all care about each other and help each other out when we need a helping hand or friendly shoulder. A few of the things we have in common is that we are all busy people who make time to gather every Sunday morning to study modern Christianity and how to apply it to our crazy world.
 
We rotate teaching/leading the class among members. We have lively discussion and everyone's thoughts and opinions are respected and valued. We have a great discussion every week and everyone leaves with a little "food for thought".
 
During the "odd" months we meet for dinner at a Hoover restaurant or have a potluck at a class membersʼ home and children are always included. 
 
We have prepared breakfast at First Light Women's Shelter on Sunday mornings, served lunch at the Church of the Reconciler and are planning to work on a Habitat for Humanity House.
 
Come check us out in our new classroom, and even if you don't like what we have to offer, we will still let you enjoy our coffee and donuts. We are located on the bottom floor of the Education Building in what was previously the Covenant Classroom.
